<p>So it looks like Google will be implementing the Caffeine technology very soon.  I had been doing testing on the Caffeine technology and the good news is that my work did not decrease in position but in many cases saw an increase.</p>
<p>Some have suggested that sites with strong linking strategies and title tags as well as good content relevance will be rewarded in Google Caffeine.   Time will tell but since I&#8217;m a content SEO advocate, I would say that it is a path that dealers should pursue.</p>

<p>As we ready for the release of Google Caffeine, SEO consultants have been following the comments from testers from around the world.  On Google&#8217;s blog, the initial <a title="Google Caffeine" href="http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2009/08/help-test-some-next-generation.html" target="_blank">Google Caffeine</a> press release, has resulted in over 200 comments to date.</p>
<p>A great article by Ben Parr showed some initial test results that concluded that <a title="Ben Parr Google Caffeine" href="http://mashable.com/2009/08/10/google-caffeine/" target="_blank">Google Caffeine</a> is fast and produces more relevant search results pages.</p>
<p>Matt Cutts from Google also discusses the <a title="Google Caffeine Update" href="http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/caffeine-update/" target="_blank">Google Caffeine Update</a>.  If you have not followed Matt&#8217;s blog I recommend that you do and some should consider just following his RSS feed.</p>
<h2>Bing and Google Caffeine</h2>
<p>Bing has been on an advertising roll lately poking fun at how much &#8220;clutter&#8221; is in search engine result pages.  Not naming Google specifically, Microsoft&#8217;s Bing advertisements hint that Bing produces cleaner and more relevant results.</p>
<p>When Caffeine rolls out, it may make that ad campaign obsolete.  I have been enjoying Bing, when I occasionally test our SEO strategies, but the logic behind their SERP&#8217;s is very different from Google.  Special optimization strategies need to be directed toward top rankings in Bing.  Never a dull a moment.</p>
<h2>Google Caffeine SEO</h2>

Negative posts that show on Google Page One have to be dealt with immediately.</p>
<p>There are a number of websites where consumers go to post their complaints or to report a scam. The most popular being: <a href="http://www.ripoffreport.com">www.ripoffreport.com</a> , <a href="http://www.dealerrater.com">www.dealerrater.com</a>, and <a href="http://www.complaintsboard.com">www.complaintsboard.com</a>.  In addition to dedicated complaints websites, you should be checking consumer review sites like <a href="http://www.yelp.com">www.yelp.com</a> , <a href="http://www.merchantcircle.com">www.merchantcircle.com</a> and <a href="http://www.insider-pages.com">www.insider-pages.com</a>  on a regular basis.</p>
<p>The Pasch Consulting Group (PCG), Internet Reputation Management experts, recommends that business oweners periodically check the most popular complaint websites for posts about their company. Keep in mind that most dedicated &#8220;complaints&#8221; websites allow you to post a balanced commentary.  Depending on the post and the motivation of the person who created the post, different responses are suggested by PCG. The staff at <a href="http://www.RipOffReport.com">www.RipOffReport.com</a> is responsive to the concerns of businesses that are being accused on their website. They avoid getting in the middle of disputes.</p>
<p>Internet reputation management is one of the specialty services offered by the PCG.  When a client contracts us to review negative posts, we will do a thorough job of researching the complaint and try to reach out to the person who is upset. The best course of action is to resolve the matter directly but that is not always reasonable or possible.  If the matter gets resolved, the person who posted the negative commentary has the best chance of having it removed or edited.</p>
<p>In cases where the posts are outright lies, PCG will contact the websites where these posts are made and seek a retraction.  PCG has had great success with removing or editing posts where there are valid misrepresentations. There is no guarantee that posts can be deleted so you have to have alternative plans, which we can provide.  Keep in mind that these consumer complaint websites want to represent the facts and they do not want to hurt any specific company from slanderous or false accusations.</p>

<p>One of the most important factors in a well respected and highly visible website is your domain name.  A domain name is the name of your website, example: <a href="http://www.searchengineoptimization-ny.com">www.searchengineoptimization-ny.com</a> is a domain name.</p>
<p>Let’s take Shakespeare’s infamous rose for example.  If I had a website dedicated to information about roses and I named my website “Briansfavoriteflowers.com”,  I will have to work much harder to let search engines know that my website is all about Roses!  On the other hand, if I were to pick a domain name like “FreshRoses.com”, it’s now quite clear to search engines that anyone searching for ‘Information About Fresh Roses” should visit my site.  My domain name (<a href="http://www.freshroses.com">www.freshroses.com</a>) matches two of the search words being requested. </p>
<p>Pick a domain name that includes the keyword or keywords that you most want to target on search engines such as Google and Yahoo. Search engines commonly factor embedded domain name text into their ranking formulas, assigning greater weight to relevant websites based on keyword-specific URLs.</p>
<p>A good choice can boost your search engine rankings, increase traffic and make your business more memorable.</p>
<p>This strategy has worked well for our clients who have microsites.  One of our microsites, <a href="http://www.infinitiwarranty.net">www.infinitiwarranty.net</a> is a .NET domain and is #2 in the USA for “Infiniti Warranty” search phrases in Google.   This demonstrates how exact match domain names can be very effective in attracting qualified consumer leads. </p>
