Nissan LEAF Joins Award Winning Lineup of Seattle Nissan Cars

The Nissan LEAF joins the award winning lineup of Seattle Nissan cars at Nissan of Auburn with a new title under its belt; winner of the Popular seattle nissan leaf carsMechanics Breakthrough Award.  The electric Nissan LEAF received a Popular Mechanics Breakthrough Award at an Oct. 5 ceremony at the Hearst Tower in New York City.

The Nissan LEAF was chosen as one of the year’s 10 most transformative products by a panel of experts in addition to members of the Popular Mechanics’ editorial board of advisers. Popular Mechanics says of the Nissan LEAF: “It’s not the first pure EV, but the Nissan LEAF hits the mainstream like none of its predecessors. LEAF Offers Seattle Nissan Car Shoppers State-of-the-Art Styling

The new Nissan Leaf offers state-of-the art styling, both inside and out with the latest advancements in aerodynamic design and IT connectivity capability.  The headlamps are specially designed to redirect air by splitting the flow around the side mirrors, so as to reduce drag and improve the cars dynamic efficiency.  And, for consumers who like to stay connected, they will be able to set their mobile phones to activate functions in the LEAF like the air conditioning and the charging performance, giving the car a state-of -the-art wireless control capability.

The Nissan LEAF is attractively priced, starting around $32,000. The attractive price of Nissan’s first electric car makes is highly competitive with the Honda Civic and Toyota Prius. “Lifecycle ownership costs of the Leaf over five years is $28,180 versus a Civic at $28,338 and the Prius at $29,358,” said Trisha Jung, chief marketing manager for the Leaf. “That’s the cost of the vehicle, the cost of the charging station and the cost of the electricity.”

The Nissan LEAF is the first electric Seattle Nissan car, and is on sale now at Rairdon’s Nissan of Auburn.
